Congress... Get Your Priorities In Order.

Lets see, wild unemployment...according to www.deptofnumbers.com as of May 2012 unemployment in the US was at 8.2%, another sight  www.photius.com rates the US as 92nd highest out of 262 countries, not bad you would think! However the US has a a deficit we will never dig out of in the next hundred years, according to www.gfmag.com, the US ranks as #2 in the world deficit, only to be outspent by Ireland, but the forcast is for US to be #! by the end of 2012.

 Crime is also wild as ever... according to www.nationmaster.com/graph/cri_tot_cri-crime-total-crimes, the US is rated highest in crime worldwide with total # of crimes... we can beat the best of the world.

Stack the stats anyway you want but crime is also here to stay just like the deficit and unemployment.

 (Reuters) - "Americans spend twice as much as residents of other developed countries on healthcare, but get lower quality, less efficiency and have the least equitable system, according to a report released on Wednesday."

So what has congress decided to do about all the mayhem... NOTHING, nothing at all, in an effort to prove which party holds the power. Lets face it, they do not give a damn about anything but power...

So what is congress doing to foolishly spend our tax dollars? Apparently going after athletes on steroids seems to be the latest proof of power fad. 

Seriously, what difference does it make to me, or to the US and the world? More government up our ass! Its a game, thats it, its just a game. If all the professional players quit, if sports became outlawed, would the world collapse... NOT. A few thousand people would have to find a real job just like the other 200 million working Americans. Sports are not a necessity, food is a necessity, warmth and shelter is a necessity, clean water, education, clean air, access to health care... all necessities. Baseball, football, basketball, hockey and whatever else is a player sport it NOT a necessity. Now I’m not saying they have no value, they are just not a necessity. Example: you have not had a meal in 5 days, you aimlessly search for food, and then you see it... 2 doors, one marked all the food you can eat and the other all the baseball you could watch (minus the beer and hot dogs)... if you say I pick baseball then I know you have no idea what its like to go hungry, you are as shallow as they can get, an idiot! When all the necessities are within your reach you forget they are necessities. OK another example... you are bleeding from every orifice and again... 2 doors, all the basketball you can watch or the best healthcare you can get. Again, don’t be an ass, sports are not a necessity by any stretch of the imagination. 

So how long before congress puts an 8 year old child on trial for eating too much candy before PLAYING hopscotch? Its just a game, the number of home runs or yards passed won’t benefit the human race in anyway. Keep up the good work congress, keep spending out taxes on useless shit... keep taking food out of the mouths of our hungry children, you got the power! Hide that Hershey bar kid, congress is in town!

Who Are My Taxes Being Spent On?

This is not an easy question to answer. There are many factors involved that need to be examined, but today I am going to focus on one main reason for this situation. Illegal immigration is the correct and easy answer.

In some US cities and states illegal immigration is welcome. These places are called “sanctuary or safe” cities, meaning our government knows their city is full of illegals and allows them to stay. Furthermore, medicaid in these states forces hospitals to give free health care to illegal immigrants. So where do you think the money comes from to pay the bills for illegals, it comes out of the taxes we (legal Americans) pay. So if a large portion of our taxes are being spent to support illegals that do not pay taxes who is going to suffer, and again the answer is us (the legal taxpaying American.)

According to the web sight /www.ojjpac.org/sanctuary.asp there are over 160 cities that allow or are on the watch list for “sanctuary” status. I suggest you review this sight as there are over ten pages of information on illegal immigration information.

I do not want you to think I am anti-immigration as my family migrated to America roughly 100 years ago, I am however anti-illegal immigration. As far as I am concerned everyone is welcome here BUT you “gotta” do it legally and you must try to pull your own weight”. A way out of this dilemma is too have the rich pay their 22-30% tax rate like all of middle America but we know that day will never come and this is a topic for another day.

Again I am not anti-immigration, all of my friends and family are immigrants with the exception of my Native American friends. Please no hate mail(LOL). If everyone in America that is able to pay taxes did so, we would not be in debt to China or anyone else.

I have also read articles that try to make the phrase “politically correct” by calling illegal immigrants “undocumented aliens”, please lets not sprinkle some sugar on the cyanide and call it candy!

So the fact is, no one knows the actual cost of illegal immigration on the health care system as hospitals are not required to ask (another don’t ask don’t tell government policy). In Texas the state comptroller estimated in 2006 illegal immigration health care cost  Texas $1.3 billion. I fired up my calculator again to come up with a  conservative estimate for all of America and came up with a total of 44,000,000,000.00 (forty-four billion dollars). Any wonder why taxpayers are sick!          

Capital Punishment, Why Not?

I could never understand why the government allows murders, rapists & child abusers to remain alive and for the most part the majority of these criminals are living free among us! I just cannot see the grey in the capital punishment issue.


I was raised with some religion in my family and I do (to some extent) understand the sanctity of human life... but... save a murders life is outrageous. Lets be real for a minute, serial rapists, murders and child molesters will never be cured. Note I qualified this statement a bit. "Serial" (not Cheerios) criminals are lifelong members of that crime club. 


Government spend how much on them, legal fees, housing, food, clothing, health care and than endanger the life of every man and women hired to guard them. How much is spent on rehabilitation and chasing down parole violators. We cannot forget about repeat offenders now can we, what can be more heinous than a convicted child rapist set free only to destroy anther young life. So I want to know what is the payoff to keeping them alive? 


I'm unclear why the life of an innocent citizen is worth less than a criminals life. What do I mean by that remark, think, just think... government lets murders run free for whatever reason and I take that to mean the government and the bleeding hearts think the next lost innocent life must be worthless. 


I realize people with nothing better to do and catholic priests disagree with me. To them I say "get a job" and "hey Pope, stop hiring serial child molesters". I do not want to bring religion into this issue at this time but sometime in the future we will get into it. So again I ask "what is the payoff.


The criminals are winning, look around you, watch the news, open your ears, pay attention crime is rampid among us. According to the "California Nonpartisan Fiscal and Policy Advisor" the average cost to incarcerate an inmate for 1 year is $47,000.00 and according to the "NY Times" 04/23/2008 the US has 2.3 million incarcerated criminals, consider this... China (with over 4 times the population of the US) only has 1.6 million in prison. 


If my calculator is correct in the US the government spends 108,100,000,000.00 (one hundred eight billion one hundred million dollars) per year on criminals. Think about how many hungry kids could be fed or how many school teachers can be hired with just a fraction of that money.


If one of my readers disagree with my opinion all I could tell them is "I hope you feel the same way about preserving a criminal after one kills your mother, rapes your wife and has his way with your 6 year old daughter as the little girl is crying asking WHY DADDY"?
